This role requires the successful applicant to maintain shed hygiene, monitor animal health, reliable and be able to adhere to milk quality standards. 

We are looking for three (3) Dairy Farm Assistants to work on a 700-cow farm in the Otautau area, milking through a 46-aside Herringbone shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55. Ideally we want someone who has a great attitude and the confidence and experience to make on farm decisions on a daily basis. You will have support from the owners and their team, and the farm has recently installed Halter. Excellent animal health and feeding skills are essential, as well as the ability to operate tractors and machinery. We value health and safety and great communication.
