We are currently seeking an experienced 2ic  who has a passion for the dairy industry. Chasing quality milk production from pasture, halter, autumn fodder beet, meal via in-shed feeding, sets a great base to achieve over 520kgMS/cow. The farm is 205ha stocking rate around 3.6 depending on regrassing periods of the year, with 4 pivots fix grid with  corner Kline's. Calves will leave Dec. With our amazing 2IC heading back overseas in October we are now seeking a motivated and reliable person or couple to help us milk 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed. This is a fixed term role for the remainder of the season but we are open to also transitioning to a permanent role for the coming season and beyond. Main duties would include getting cows in, milking, shed and effluent management, water management and general farm tidying and maintenance. There is not much tractor work so if this is not a strength that's no issue. A farm assistant is required to efficiently milk a 540-pedigree jersey cow herd in a 60-bail rotary shed based in the Riverton area. Applicants must have a proven good work ethic, be physically fit, enjoy the challenging outdoor environment and have a positive attitude!
