Located near Te Awamutu, we are a system 3-4 farm milking 750 cows through a 50-rotary. We are progressive in our farming practices, have modern facilities & machinery, and have good on-farm systems. We are seeking experienced (minimum 3 years) Assistant Herd Manager to join our team who have a passion for working with animals, have good communication, and are keen to progress in the farming industry, including undertaking Primary ITO studies. The position of assistant herd manager is designed to assist the farm manager in the overall running of the farm. Due to one of our workers being injured we are looking for someone on a fixed term basis to help us get through the start of mating. This might lead to more work in the future.  We milk 2,000 cows through a 80 bale rotary which has auto drafting and teat spraying. We require a COUPLE to Contract Milk for the 2027/ 2028 season.  We require two people full-time  from 1 August until 20 November. Our farm is in Taranaki and in the Matapu area with local school bus available . We milk 225 cows through a 20 aside herringbone cowshed, that has an In-shed feed system.  Proliq has been introduced this season. Our young stock are grazed off farm. We value the relationships we form with our staff and support and encourage them to progress on and off farm. A generous remuneration package is offered with the Contract payment. The Contract Milkers must provide their own motorbike. The farm owners live on farm. The farm contour is mainly flat and on the Inaha water scheme.
