Douglas Farms is seeking a motivated and committed Farm Assistant to join our progressive dairy operation based in Kaitaia. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive, well-established team focused on high standards of animal care, farm performance, and workplace culture. Our farm milks 2,200 cows across two adjoining farms — a 54-bale and a 70- bale rotary sheds. The proposed start date is from 13th July 2026 , however flexibility is available for the right applicant. Roster The role operates on a double rotation roster: 8 days on / 2 days off (Wednesday & Thursday) 8 days on / 3 days off (Saturday, Sunday & Monday) This provides a three-day weekend every third weekend and five days off across each three-week cycle. We would like to employ a mature person, with farm work experience, or similar, to assist with general farm duties.   The job is varied - tractor work, water supply maintenance, fencing, spraying, and stock work when required. The role reports to the farm owner.  It would suit someone with a range of skills relevant to farm maintenance who can get on with work unsupervised. NZ Drivers Licence Required. It is a casual role.  Hourly rate would be by negotiation.
