Our lower order sharemilker of 12 years is retiring and we are looking for a herd owning sharemilker to step into the role of running our 75 effective ha farm. The cows are milked through a 20 aside herringbone shed. Production over the last 3 seasons has averaged 63,300kg of milk solids. Under an owner operator the production was consistently around 73,000kg. The farm has fertile, well maintained soils and is run with a System 2 approach. Farm infrastructure is functional but older. A job is available in a milk for rent position. You would need to do four milkings per week to cover rent, anything more will be paid to you. If you cannot work on certain weeks you will be required to pay rent. If you are unavailable for miking sometimes but able to do other farm jobs this can also cover rent. This could suit someone with another job, other relief milking is available in the area. Recent referees will be required and you must be drug free.
