We are looking for a great calf rearer to create the stars of the future! We will be rearing 145 replacements + bobbies and some beef calves during a 8 to 10 week period. We have 600 cows. To apply you will need to be confident teaching new calves and have great attention to detail. As you will spend a lot of the time working alone you will ideally have previous experience rearing calves, awesome animal husbandry and superb hygiene standards. You will be self motivated, reliable, be quick noticing any health issues and be well organized. (Also a master driving our little tractor). Some training is provided. Delivering happy healthy calves is our goal! Grassyleas Farm is located at 743 Wallace Road, 10 minutes between both Cambridge and Te Awamutu. The farm consists of 194ha effective milking platform. Currently wintering 630 cows and farmed under a simple pasture-based system. This is a genuine Assistant Managers role with opportunities to participate in all aspects of the business with the goal of management to develop a high-level farm manager. FIXED TERM EMPLOYMENT Our staff member has broken his foot on the weekend so we are looking for a drive in person to help from mid June till September while he recovers.  Our main calving starts 10th of July but we will have heifers calving from 20th of June. We farm a simple grass based system with Jersey cows milking through a 50 bale rotary with automatic cup removers and walk over teat sprayer.
