We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic new team member to fill our Herd manager role here in Roto-O-Rangi. We have been Contract milking our Family owned and operated Dairy farm for the last 6 years with the goal to continue improving animal health and productivity each season. Our current herd manager began with us three seasons ago as a farm assistant and has made the decision to move on to new challenges with a sole charge roll. This roll will require pasture management and herd health skills to be applied on a daily basis along with good communication skills when working alongside us as contract milkers. The applicant will be required to communicate and guide a 2ic with daily tasks and work well as a team. This farm runs 540 kiwi cross cows through a 40 per side hearing bone shed with automatic cup removers and a modern plant / infostructure.  We also have a small 18 per side shed with in shed feeing that we start calving through to help spread the feeding pressures...
