We are looking for a farm assistant to milk 445 cows through a 38 aside herring bone shed on 170 hectares of flat to rolling contour. You will hit the ground running. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting with daily operational tasks as directed, including feeding, milking, animal health, and effluent. You will need to be aware of farm compliance, eg health, safety and well being, environment, animal welfare etc. The role will provide great learning opportunities where you will be encouraged to take responsibility for your day-to-day activities, which will include milking/shed hygiene, animal health detection, tractor driving and general farm duties. We milk approximately 470 winter cows through ASHB with ACR’s and protrack drafting twice a day. Cows go to the feed pad most days of the year to optimise production.
