We are looking for a farm assistant who is passionate about pastural farming and caring for livestock.  We milk an 800 cow cross bred herd through a 50 aside herring bone shed. The normal daily tasks consists of milking, shifting the effluent irrigator, shifting break fences, moving cows, feeding supplements, helping with calf feeding, and all sorts of farm maintenance.  We are hoping to find someone that is keen to grow, progress, and master the art of farming. We are looking for either a 2IC or farm assistant to assist in the daily running of my farming operation. We are not AEWV accredited employers so all applicants need to be NZ citizens or have valid work visa. We peak milk 520 cows through a 44 aside herringbone with in shed meal feeding. We have a 50 ha run off block and a 50 ha lease block 6k down the road. The run off block is used for wintering half our cows, raising young stock from weaners to R1s, and making baleage. The lease block is used for raising 50 of our R1s through to R2s and a small mob raising beef on dairy stock and some baleage.  We are seeking someone who has some previous dairy experience and can work unassisted. We offer competitive remuneration in a beautiful outdoor environment.
