A well maintained tidy dairy farm requires a competent experience calf rearer for the upcoming spring calving of 650 Friesian cows.  The position also offers ongoing farm maintenance work and stock duties throughout the season.   The applicant must be quiet with stock, experience in driving tractors and operating farm machinery. The person we are seeking will have excellent communication skills, be well organised, tidy, honest and reliable. During peak calving the hours would average 35hrs per week, thereafter 20hrs per week. The position would suit a semi retired farming couple, however we welcome applicants with the above skills and personal attributes.  Requires a NZ drivers licence, NZ residency or hold NZ work permit. A tidy 3 bedroom recently renovated cottage is available immediately with subsidised rent. No pets.

We are seeking 2 drive in calf rearers this spring from mid July to end of september 2025. We will be calving down 1000 cows. Rearing approx. 300 heifer replacements plus bobbies and a few beefies. Job includes: Tubing new calves. Feeding replacements and bobbies. Cleaning of all equipment daily. Eye for ill health, to report to manager. Good time management. We are situated 7km from Rakaia. We are after a full time Calf rearer for the upcoming calving season starting from mid July until end of October. We rear approximately 300 replacements and 50-60 beefies that are sold at 4 days old and the rest are bobbies. We will calve 1130 cows for the 2025-26 season. Calf sheds are well set up and milk is pumped directly from the dairy shed to the calf sheds. Farm is located at Bankside - 10 minutes north of Rakaia. Calf rearer- Feeding of replacement calves morning and night, spraying of navals, spraying of pens once a week, hosing of concrete once a day, feeding of calves on calfeteria and allocation of hard feed, general hygiene and well being of calves. Relief milking- To assist milking two herds through a 24 ASHB with cup removers, teat spraying, bringing in of second herd (requires riding a two wheel motorbike), shed clean up and hosing of yard. Would be required every 2nd weekend.

We are looking for a calf rearer for this coming Spring on our 600 cow dairy farm, 12 minutes south of Martinborough. Experience preferred but not essential.  We typically rear 400 calves through to 100kg, selling approx 150 bull calves at 4-10 days old.  We have a tight calving spread with 70% of the herd calved in August. Therefore, looking for someone starting 1 August to finish mid October. Calves indoors are fed colostrum twice per day, milk is pumped from calfateria to feeders in each pen. Outdoor calves are fed once per day using a combination of fresh milk and powder. The herd is roto-vaxed and there are rigorous on farm policies in place to prevent illness in the calves. This role would be supported by the dairy team and farm owners. 

We are seeking an experienced Calf rearer to be in charge of the day to day calf rearing operation. We will be calving 730 cows, rearing 150-175 replacement calves and the rest either being Bobbies or sold as dairy beef at 4 days old. You will be working with at least one other and have the support of the whole team through out. It will be a drive in position. Start date will be around the 21/7/2025 and finish date will be 10/9/2025. will likely be 3-4hours per day through the first month then down to 1-2hours a day from then on.

We require 1calf rearers to work alongside an experienced calf rearer, rearing 400 replacement heifers and 100 bull calves. All calves are tube fed and then fed once a day in a well set up and effiicient system which is well established with good quality equipment. No experience required but is welcomed, we will provided full training as required. We offer a good competitive hourly rate and start and finish dates are negotiable.

We are herd owning sharemilkers looking for a staff member to complete our team. We spring calve 450 cows. Milking is through a 40 aside herringbone shed with automatic cup removers. You will be working alongside the sharemilker and herd manager. Your main roles will be to assist with milking and rearing of calves. Other farm tasks can include general maintenance, tractor work, effluent management and break fencing etc. Some experience is preferred but not essential. A good attitude and willingness to learn are a must. Roster can be negotiable but you will need to be available to work every second weekend to cover staff time off. There will be approximately 30 hours of work per week. Pay will be hourly and rate will depend on experience. The farm is located 12 minutes from Matamata. A three bedroom house is provided with this role.
