Milking our beautiful 630 cows through a 60-bail rotary with ACR and auto drafting, we will expect you to have strong milk harvesting skills and you must also be at the top of your game when it comes to shed hygiene and animal health and wellbeing, as well as being a capable tractor driver, so a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience here in NZ is essential. Do you want to be part of a team that is involved in all aspects of a 420 cow farm, working alongside 2 others on a grass focused system. Where the cows are friendly and most calves are reared for a beef block. You must be reliable, have a can do attitude and enjoy working with animals. Minimum 3 years experience in the NZ dairy industry is required. Farm is located 10mins from Methven and 15mins from Ashburton. It is irrigated largely by Centre Pivots. It is an opportunity to learn all aspects of dairy farming including pasture management and animal husbandry.

We require a head calf rearer who takes pride in their ability to care for calves. This job requries someone to feed and rear 180 heifer replacements and 100 bull calves. We have predominantly X bred cows in a 700 cow herd. We have a great team of people to work with and endeavour to be well organised and make calving time as enjoyable as possible. The job requires: • Great communication • Training new calves • Feeding milk, meal and hay • Identifying navel infections, health issues • Spraying out pens • Cleaning the water troughs • Limited heavy lifting

We are looking for someone to assist our head calf rearer and  join our team for the coming season. We are seeking a  reliable and hardworking individual to assist with the rearing of replacements and bobby calves. Start date to be confirmed but likely to be early August to end of September/ early October. This is a drive in position. Hours and roster to be negotiated. Remuneration by negotiation. Experience an advantage but not necessary as full training with our systems will be given.
