We are after someone for our 1100 cow dairy farm 15 minutes from Tapawera, 45 minutes from Richmond. The role can be tailored to suit the right applicant, with Farm Assistant, Shed Manager or Herd Manager all possibilities. For us, its finding the right person to fit our current fantastic team. There is casual work available for partners including calf rearing & relief milking. The farm is bordered by the Wangapeka River, famous for trout fishing, and a short drive to Kahurangi National Park. Able Tasman Park, town, beaches & skiing all within 50 minutes drive. We peak milk 1100 cows through a 60 bale rotary cow shed. Shed is equipped with protrac, auto drafting, auto test spraying & Cell Sense. We also have Halter collars on the cows. Dairy Farm Assistant (Murchison) 3477AW
$68,000 - $70,000 yearly

We are seeking a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on an 1100-cow farm in the Murchison area. The farm is located approximately 20 minutes from Murchison and operates a 60 Bail Rotary milking shed. Previous dairy farming experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.   The schedule may vary; Roster will be 6 days on, 2 days off for the rest of the year.
