Our clients seek an experienced Lower Order Sharemilker for their peak 900 cow herd, located 15 minutes from Fairlie in the spectacular Mackenzie district. Currently this herd is milking OAD but for the right candidate TAD milking will be considered (875 cows) The farm consists of 268 ha’s milking through a 54-bail rotary with in-shed feeding. Consistent production around 270,000kgMS. The farm is partially spray irrigated by pivot due to low reliability and is located in a notable high rainfall area. It is also supported by 2 storage ponds with high flow water (c.25 days). The successful candidate will be honest and reliable with a strong work ethic and be willing to be hands-on and use initiative. You will need excellent all-round farm management skills, and an outstanding ability to communicate well. We are seeking an energetic, reliable and motivated individual to join our team for the 25/26 season. Must have 3 years experience (ideally someone looking to step into a 2ic role). The job offers a 5 year old 3 bedroom house with internal garage and 2 bay shed, located in the majestic middle valley, 15 minutes from Fairlie, 25 minutes to Geraldine and 45 minutes to Timaru. Our farm peak milks 585 cows through a fully automated 50 bale rotary shed, protrac and inshed feeding. The farm is 380ha (milking platform 165ha). We use leading Smaxtec technology within our cows, giving us an advantage when it comes to animal health and mating. We have 2 center pivots on 100ha and also 20ha of kline irrigation with the remainder being dryland. Our yearly rain fall is about 750mls.  The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of -of pasture management  -effluent management and recording  -identifying and treating lame cows and mastitis cows -feeding out and general tractor work...
