We are looking for someone to come in and cover milkings through the 2026/27 season so staff are able to have annual leave and get other jobs done around the farm during milking hours. We run a split calving system so milkings are all year round and consistent.  54 bail rotary with cup removers and automatic teat spray so is just one person milking. There will be someone to help with herd change overs and when the red mob comes through so you arent left to yourself. There is always someone outside loading or doing other jobs that if you have an issue you can call on. We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 550-cow farm in the Manawaru area, milking through a 30 Aside Herringbone shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. We are looking for an experienced calf rearer to help us grow our future super stars! We rear 600 calves and it does get very busy. Because animal welfare is a priority, we are looking someone with great attention to detail who doesn't cut corners and can detect issues before they become a problem. To be successful in this role you will need to be a patient and empathetic person, be able to drive a tractor and already have the right to work in nz (we will not transfer visas as this is a short term casual position).  This is a drive in position. DRIVE IN CALF REARER We have 450 cows to calve on our 104ha farm near Leamington, Cambridge, and we are looking for a calf rearer to join the team to take care of our calves while they are on farm. We will have a mixture of dairy replacements and dairy beef calves through the system. Previous experience in calf rearing is a must and have a real passion for looking after the health and wellbeing of every calf. It will be for approx. 5 hours per day until mid-September.  $26-$28/hr depending on experience. We are seeking to employ a single Farm Assistant able to start at the end of July 2026. The position is to assist with general farm work including milkings, stock work, tractor driving, weed control and effluent management.  The applicant must be willing to learn and develop their own farming skills with the view to be a herd manager in the future. The farm operates with 3-herds as there are both spring and autumn calving cows. The cowshed is a 50-bale herringbone. 190 replacements are reared annually and farmed on the farm. It is operated as a System-3 dairy with maize & grass silage fed on a fed pad together with PKE and vegetable waste. A knowledge of dairy production systems is preferred.
