This role will assist with the day-to-day operations of the farm, working closely with the herd owning sharemilker.   We twice a day milk 360 cows on 115 hectares, through a modern 32 aside herringbone with automatic cup removers, on flat land 10 minutes from Matamata. Milking's are fast and efficient. Milking : Assist with the milking of 650 jersey cross cows through a 36 aside herringbone shed Calf Rearing:  Feeding and monitoring the health of 250+ calves, and preserving a clean and healthy                                  environment Farm maintenance ; including the up-keep of machinary, fences, waterlines and weed control Stock management : Moving and drafting stock, and setting up of break fences. Fulltime farm assistant required to cover the Rostered days off of our 3 permanent staff for the busy spring period. You will work 10 days a fortnight  as part of the team doing all jobs through the busy spring calving and mating period. We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 460-cow farm in the Temple View area, approximately 10–15 minutes west of Hamilton. The farm operates a 27 Aside Herringbone milking shed. Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available.
