We have a farm assistant role available. This role will assist with the day-to-day operations of the farm, working closely with the herd owning sharemilker.
We twice a day milk 360 cows on 115 hectares, through a modern 32 aside herringbone with automatic cup removers, on flat land 10 minutes from Matamata. Milking's are fast and efficient. The farm has great infrastructure and is set up with the daily operators in mind.
Daily jobs include but not limited to:
Milk harvesting
Stock handling and work
Tractor work
Weed and pest control
Assistance with general farm maintenance.
We are seeking someone who:
Has a positive can-do attitude
Is quiet with stock
Is a good communicator
Reliable and honest
Keen to learn and develop
Confident on a 2-wheel motorbike.
We guarantee 48 hours work per week. Position is available from the 1st of October 2026.
A full, clean and current driver’s license is essential. You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug testing. You must be physically fit due to the nature of this role. All applicants must legally be able to work in NZ.

This role could suit a university graduate and/or someone who has 1-2 years' experience. We are both graduates of Lincoln University and are a young couple who have previously had professional careers outside of dairy farming.
