Farm Assistant/Herd Manager We milk 575 red-breed cows through a 50 bail rotary.  The irrigated farm is 10 minutes from Methven and 20 minutes from Ashburton.  We need a 4th person to commence employment mid-November. We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 700-cow farm milking through a 54 Rotary Bale shed in the Ashburton area. The farm is located 10-15 minutes to Ashburton, 30 minutes from Mt Hutt Ski Field.  Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. You would be working on a 220ha cow dairy farm and milking 680 cows through a 50 bale rotary shed with acr's and protrack. The farm has 5 pivots. Roster would be 6:2. House is a 4 bedroom brick home.
