Our beautiful 141Ha family owned and run dairy farm is located just 5 minutes from Lincoln, where there are great schools, shops, cafes etc. and we’re still only 30 mins from the center of Christchurch. We think we are ideally situated to enjoy everything the South Island has to offer.
We milk our beautiful 280 cows through a 20 aside Herringbone shed, it does not have ACR, but it is a 1-person shed (eventually you will be able to milk on your own). We would like to find a dairy farm assistant to come and join our team. Our manager has been with us for 7 years, so we consider ourselves to be good employers especially as they started with us as a farm assistant. We are good teachers but only if you have a willingness to learn. This is not just a job to us, this is a lifestyle, so having an extra person will allow us to concentrate on other projects.
You may have at least 6-to-12-months experience under your belt or at least know how to milk cows preferably in a Herringbone shed. We will teach you the rest but the things we can’t teach you that are essential are a strong work ethic, be a team player, honest, reliable and have initiative.
If you are seeking a career change or just a step in the right direction in your dairy career, then we are the people who can provide that. We have lovely accommodation on farm, and we are willing to pay between $62 to $65K plus $200 a week for accommodation.
You must be drug free as we offer a health and safety conscious workplace, and you must not have a criminal record, we also prefer none smokers/vapers.
