Are you looking to build a robust future in dairy farming? We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Farm Assistant to join our dedicated team. This position has become available because a long-standing team member has progressed quickly during their time with us and is now taking the next step in their career.
About the Role
While prior experience is not essential, a keen interest in dairy farming, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic are an absolute must. We are a tight-knit farming team who pride ourselves on supporting one another and working well together to achieve our farm's goals.
We expect every team member to learn and take part in all areas of running the farm. In return, we are committed to helping you plan, progress, and build a successful career in the dairy industry. We actively promote and support Ag-ITO training for our staff.
About the Farm
Our farm is a well-equipped, progressive operation:
•Scale: Milking 1,100 cows on 300ha
•Facilities: 60-bale rotary shed equipped with ACRs, Protrack, and in-shed feeding
•Location: Ideally situated close to Christchurch, Rangiora, Kaiapoi, and Mandeville township, offering an excellent work-life balance and access to amenities.
Roster
We offer a structured roster designed to balance the demands of the farming season:
•Calving: 5 days on, 1 day off
•Mating: 6 days on, 2 days off
•Rest of the Season: 5 days on, 2 days off
