We’re looking for someone keen to learn, get stuck in and be part of a great team!
We milk 585 cows through a 40-aside, 2-person herringbone shed with Halter technology on a 160ha dairy farm. All young stock are run on our neighbouring hill-block runoff, and we operate on a 10-in-7 milking frequency.
You’ll be part of a small team of three, working both together and independently.
Located just 20 minutes from Cheviot and an hour from Amberley, there’s plenty to enjoy outside of work. We border the Hurunui River, with lots of outdoor activities nearby, local sports teams to get involved in and a great farming community.
Daily tasks include milking and shed hygiene, assisting with stock feeding and handling, shifting effluent and carrying out general farm duties.

The current roster is 6 days on, 2 days off, moving to 6 days on, 3 days off over summer, with the potential for changes in the future.
Some basic dairy farming knowledge or previous milking experience would be an advantage, but it’s not essential. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in dairy farming who is willing to learn and contribute to the team.
