We require a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our family owned and operated Dairy Farm in Hororata. We have an excellent team of 4 and are looking for the right person who will complete our team. We are located in Hororata, Canterbury. We milk 800 cows through a 50 ASHB, with inshed feeding and allflex collars. We have 2 pivots and a few k-line. Our team culture is welcoming, hard working, efficient and genuinely enjoy what we do.
Key tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Milking : Assists with efficient and hygienic milking practices.
Animals : Assists the team in caring for the cows, keeping up with records, reporting and treating animal health conditions.
Feed : Assists in weed control, sets up break fences and assists in feeding out.
Environment : Assists with effluent management, assists with shifting of K-line irrigation.
People : Works efficiently, works well with others, a strong team culture is crucial for our team and business.
Machinery : Can safely use machinery appropriate to skill level. Can confidently ride a 2 wheeler motorbike.
Salary ranges from $60,000 - $67,000 inclusive of accommodation. A minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed. If you work over 40 hours per week then your wages will be topped up by $35 for every hour you work over the 40 hours.
Applicants must have a criminal free record. We have a strict health and safety policy, therefore applicants will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing if successful. Applicants must be fit and able to do physical work. Strictly no smoking on farm. And no pets allowed on farm.
All applicants must be in New Zealand. Hold a valid Work Visa, Hold a Resident work Visa or be a NZ citizen.
