We are looking for an experienced farm worker (2+ years) for a Herd Manager role on a 1500 cow farm in the Hororata area. The farm is located 45 minutes west of Christchurch, milking through a 60 Bail Rotary shed with ACR. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. Farm Assistant We are seeking a reliable and motivated Farm Assistant to join and complete our farm team starting 15/09 Our farm is located just 15 minutes from Ashburton and milks 860 cows through a 50-bail rotary shed equipped with ACRs and Protrack. The farm is irrigated using centre pivots and one Rotorainer. This position offers a comfortable 2–3 bedroom home and operates on a 6 days on, 2 days off roster year-round. We maintain a strict drug and alcohol-free workplace and expect all team members to uphold these standards. At least one year experience in NZ dairy farms. We are seeking a motivated dairy farm assistant for our dairy farm in Waikuku.    The farm is family owned and has been farmed by the family for 120 years.  We are a winter milking farm at the peak milking 1200 and down to 950 over winter and over 3/4 of our herd are full pedigree Holstein Friesians.  We also make our own silage and hay. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with initiative and drive who can work well on their own and as part of a team. This run-off property provides dairy support for two dairy farms. The manager is responsible for the day to day running of the property (in communication with the farm owner) and is required to manage the grazing and feeding of all dry stock, ensuring they meet target weights and condition.
