We are seeking a motivated and reliable Farm Assistant or 2IC to join our team on a well-run dairy farm milking 450 Friesian cows. You will be working alongside the Sharemilker, one other full time staff member, and supported by relief staff.  The role involves assisting with milking in a 40 ASHB with cup removers and in-shed, animal health, tractor work and general farm duties, this role would suit someone who is willing to develop their skills, take on more responsibility over time, works well in a team and takes pride in their work.  Located close to Horsham Downs school and Hamilton, this position is ideal for a family or single person, pet's negotiable. 12 on, 2 off roster flexible with days. We are proud of our farm and animals and are looking for someone who will fit well with our team. 

We are currently looking for someone with at least 1-2 full season dairy farming experience which includes milking, tractor, fencing and general farm maintenance experience.  O nce a day milking (am), 300 cows, spring calving only. Roster is either 6 on 1 off or 12 on 2 off. We are located in Te Mata, Raglan (15 minutes to Raglan town and beach and 45 minutes to Hamilton). There is accommodation on farm if required. One bedroom cottage – basic but tidy and comfortable. Please note this accommodation would ideally suit a single person or a couple at most. No dogs allowed if living on-farm and also a no smoking policy on farm or inside accommodation. With our amazing 2IC heading back overseas in October we are now seeking a motivated and reliable person or couple to help us milk 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed. This is a fixed term role for the remainder of the season but we are open to also transitioning to a permanent role for the coming season and beyond.
