Looking for an energetic, reliable and motivated individual to work alongside the farm owner. Peak milk 360 cows 15 minutes from Matamata.  TAD milking through a 50 bale rotary shed with ACR's and inshed feeding.  Ideally you will have 2yrs minimum experience but training can be provided.  Responsibilities include but not limited to are: milking, tractor work, stock work, weed and pest control, shed hygiene, animal health, fencing and other general farm duties.  Start date negotiable.

We are on the look out for a full time farm assistant or 2IC This job mainly entails milking our 400 freisan cows in our 40-a-side herringbone with ACR's Milkings are done solo however either myself or my husband (contract milkers) will be on farm except on our days off. Our ideal person will enjoy being in the shed and able to run the shed and wash solo, including finding mastitis and lame cows, treating penicillin cows, identifying calved cows etc. They will also be able to put up break fences, basic fencing skills, feeding out/using tractor and other basic farm jobs however the main job will be milking. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a progressive team as a 2IC.  Milking 740 cows, twice a day, through a well-appointed 50 bale rotary shed with ACRs.  They operate a system 5 farm utilising supplements all year round, on a feedpad. They require someone enthusiastic, goal driven, having had experience with higher input farms, including the handling of mixer wagons and telehandlers. Roster is 8 days on/2 days off then 8 days on/ 3 days off all season, managing 3 hour breaks most days. Good remuneration package, including excellent housing, PPE and phone allowance. On the lookout for a farm assistant/2IC for our dairy farm located 5 minutes out of Tapanui in West Otago. We're an 1000 cow farm with a 50 bail rotary that has protrac and ACR's. We run a 6/2 roster, you will be working alongside myself and 2 other workers. Milking times are from 3:30am cups on till 8am and 2pm cups on till 5:30pm. We run 2 herds (cows and heifers separate) as well as a lame group that is milked once a day in the mornings. A gate timer is used for first herd to come to the shed morning and afternoon milkings. The main task on farm is milkings and cow traffic. Other tasks between milkings can include; - fencing -tractor work (feeding out, scraping, mowing etc) -drenching of young stock -etc You will need to have good time management skills, be able to work alone and alongside others, good logistical sense and a good eye for animal health.
