We are looking for a fulltime farm assistant to join our team on a 135ha dairy farm based in Okoroire, near Tirau. We are centrally located only 35kms from Rotorua, 28kms from Matamata and 15kms from both Tirau and Putaruru.
We milk 400cows through a 38 bail rotary. The successful applicant will be working alongside us 50/50 sharemilkers and a 2IC on a family farm. We are looking for someone that likes to work in a close family situation, has a passion for farming and isn’t just requiring a house.
You will need to be able to take instruction from our 2IC and get to work on time!
Able to ride a 2-wheeler motorbike and ideally some tractor experience.
You must be quiet around the cows and be hardworking, honest and reliable.
Key tasks are milking cows, setting up break fences, identifying mastitis, identifying cows in heat, general farm maintenance.
Salary will be based on relevant experience in the dairy industry.
Roster is 12 on 2 off. Every 2nd weekend off and weekends on just essential jobs done.
