2IC Dairy Farm Position – Opunake, South Taranaki

Start date: 21 September 2026

We are looking for an experienced and reliable 2IC to join our dairy farming team near Opunake, South Taranaki to work alongside Contract Milkers and other staff. We are a large farming operation using Halter to maximise pasture use and reduce staff hours.

About the Role

  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the farm
  • Milking, animal health and pasture management
  • Farm maintenance and general farm duties
  • Support and lead the farm team
  • Take responsibility for the farm when required

About You

We are looking for someone with solid NZ dairy farming experience who is:

  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Confident working independently
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Experienced in a senior role, or ready to step up to 2IC
  • Passionate about cows and maintaining high farm standards
  • Capable using large machinery - essential

Partner relief milking: Opportunity for a partner to pick up relief milking work when available.
