Candy Dairy is a fully irrigated farm located 25 mins inland from Timaru. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic assistant farm manager/ 2IC to join and help lead our team. This farm peak milks 800 cows through a 54 bail rotary with split calving 100 in autumn 700 spring winter milking 200 cows. We run Halter on our cows and also young stock. The successful applicant will: - Work well in a team and be able to lead and take charge when required - Take pride in all that you do - Have at least 3 years’ experience in a NZ dairy system - Be honest and H&S minded - Have strong animal husbandry skills - the ability to diagnose and treat animals accordingly - Strong pasture management & be competent with machinery and motorbikes - Be able to work unsupervised & take responsibility for operating the shed & dairy unit. - Have a current and clean NZ drivers’ license - Be a NZ citizen, permanent resident or have a valid work visa and currently be in New Zealand We will provide you with: - An excellent remuneration package. - Career development will be encouraged through on & off farm training. - A supportive working environment with a flexible work roster. - Be competent in safely operating tractor, wagon and motorbikes - Willingness to work to a high standard
