Due to unforeseen circumstances our small family farm requires a farm assistant to support us this coming season, starting with calving time in August 2026.  Having run the farm over the past eight seasons as a husband & wife duo (plus kids), we're looking for someone to support us in the running of the dairying operation. Consisting of a range of typical dairy farm duties/jobs; including, but not limited to, milking sole-charge, able to work independently, operating a four-wheel motorbike, putting up fences etc. Hours ranging from 20-40 hours per week. We have a position available working with the contract milker on a small and straightforward farm on the Taieri. Shed is a 24 aside herringbone with an automatic teatsprayer, an easy one person shed. We are looking for someone who is experienced and competent enough to milk and run the shed wash unsupervised when we take time off. You will also be required to carry out other normal farming duties such feeding out, topping, irrigator, farm maintenance etc.    Our cows are very important to us and to work here you must be able to stay calm and quiet in the shed, treating the animals with respect.
