We have a position available working with the contract milker on a small and straightforward farm on the Taieri. Shed is a 24 aside herringbone with an automatic teatsprayer, an easy one person shed. We are looking for someone who is experienced and competent enough to milk and run the shed wash unsupervised when we take time off. You will also be required to carry out other normal farming duties such feeding out, topping, irrigator, farm maintenance etc.
Our cows are very important to us and to work here you must be able to stay calm and quiet in the shed, treating the animals with respect. Likewise you must take care with machinery. If your references can attest to these two things it will go a long way with us.
Because we are a small farm we have flexibility and will be able to teach you skills across the board. We are also happy to support you with a primary ITO farming apprenticeship.
The accomodation provided is a small four bedroom house with a recently renovated kitchen, wood fire, and incredible views. There is a double garage also.
NZ drivers licence required as accommodation is off farm. A police check is also required.
Start date is negotiable before 1 August 2026.
Renumeration and rostered hours are somewhat negotiable depending on experience and what works for you.
