We are looking for a new team member to join our team, this is a new role as we have expanded our farm and need 1 more person to ensure we can keep our team running a 5/2 roster year round.
The farm will peak milk 950 cows on 354ha near Drummond in Southland. We run a modern high performing dairy farm, take pride in doing our work well and providing an innovative well rounded workplace. We have a strong culture creating a good place to work where your efforts are rewarded.
About You:
- Being a dairy farmer is your career, you are or desire to be a professional dairy farmer that works on a top class farm.
- A good understanding of the fundamentals of dairy farming and the ability to complete basic duties well.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and on your own.
- Have a can do attitude and like to get stuck in to complete jobs to a high standard.
- Proficient in technology and can accurately record farm information and use apps.
- Minimum hours per week 30 hours, Wage range $26 -29 per hour
The Role:
- Milking, animal health, feeding stock both grass and supplements.
- Tractor duties, mainly feeding out and mowing.
- Calving mating and everything in between.
- Involved in all aspects of the farm operation.
- Working on a 5 days on 2 days off roster year round, no change for calving.
