Due to the unforseen need for our current employee of 7 years to relocate for personal reasons we are looking for a farm assistant / assistant herd manager to join our team working with the farm owner and our 2IC.
We are loacted in the Charing Cross area, Selwyn district.
A bit about us
-450 high producing xbred cows
-113 ha platform irrigated by pivots, k-line and sprinkers
-36 bale rotary cowshed with ACR’s, meal feeding, protrack and cowmanager
-Strong pasture harvesters with efficient use of supplements to drive profitable production

What we require
-A positive attitude with a desire and ability to adapt, learn and grow

-A self starter who enjoys team environments and also working on their own
-Good time management skills
-Pride and passion in presentation, the job you do and industry you are in
-Respect for people, the farm, stock and the environment
-Ideally a couple of years experience in the dairy industry with the confidence to complete daily tasks on farm including moving stock, milking, putting fences up, feeding out and general maintenance
-An understanding of the industry, the requirements of the job and a desire to be a dairy farmer
