Experienced 2IC- Looking for Management

We are looking for an experienced 2IC who’s wanting to set up into management….

We are a fully certified Organic Dairy Farming Family in New Zealand, whose main farm is based in Marotiri and second farm is based in Edgecumbe, near Whakatane, both in the North Island. The main dairy platform is 65HA very flat with a 38HA supporting block, which has a rolling contour and is 5-10 minutes up the road. Farm is approximately 30mins from Ohope! And 20mins to Whakatane, 5mins to Edgecumbe and an hour to both Tauranga and Rotorua. Absolutely incredible beach on the east coast of the North Island!!!!

We are looking for someone who’s experienced and loves milking cows, can drive a tractor, ride a motorbike and operate other farming equipment, capable to work on their own and can make decisions. Must be honest, reliable, drug and smoke free.

The successful person/s could be looking for a change, is keen to work, show loyalty and will commit to at least one season. They will be offered a 4 bedroom 1bathroom freshly renovated home , on our second farm at Edgecumbe, milking 150 heifers and roughly 30 older cows OAD. Through a 16 a side herringbone shed.

• We guarantee 35 hours per week, total of 70 hours a fortnight.
• Our roster is an 11/3 single rotation
• Hourly rate is between $25-$35.

A competitive pay package is available, based on an hourly rate.

Tasks will include:

Milking cows

Feeding calves

Moving stock (including young)

Effluent management

Fencing

Identify lameness/ Mastitis

Moving break fences

Other general farming tasks such as water leaks, broken trough arms, milk fever etc

Some experience with Organics is preferred, but training given.
