We are looking for a herd manager that has at least 2 years of herd manager experience. Must be in the country and have a valid visa. We are putting on halter this winter. We peak milk 1250 cows in a 70 bail rotary shed. Must be patient and have good animal husbandry, able to communicate well, and work well in a team.  You must be able to ride a 2 wheeler. We milk our beautiful 1250 cows through a very high tech 80-bail rotary, and our farm is set on 300Ha of flat land located very close to Dunsandel, Rakaia and Rolleston.   We are now in need of good herd manager to join our team for 25/26 season.   We do not mind if We need someone who is mature enough to be left to work unsupervised, still happy to milk cows, manage other staff, have strong animal health skills, be able to keep our dairy shed clean and tidy, drive a tractor including feeding out, pasture management skills but still have a willingness to learn so that you could possibly progress to be our next 2IC.   There is a lovely modern and warm 3-bedroom house located on farm which we value at $250 per week, we are big believers in work life/balance and so you will be on a 5/2 roster all year round and we do a 40-hour week.   We do, however, guarantee a minimum of 30 hours a week and we will pay between $30 to $35 per hour.
