Job Description
We are requiring another staff member to join our team as we head into the 2026/27 season. This position could be a good fit for someone who is currently working as a Farm Assistant and wanting to step up to the next level. You will need to have a minimum of 2.5 years of NZ dairy experience, preferably on a mid- to large-herd-size dairy farm. We are situated halfway between Methven and Ashburton. The farm is fully irrigated and has a 54 bail rotary. The job will include:
- Getting cows in and milking them.
- Setting up break fences
- Detecting and treating lame, sick and mastitis cows and recording treatments
- Assist with calving cows
- Great stock handling skills and be able to work with young stock
- Have great shed hygiene and general farm tidines
- Basic pasture management & willing to learn more
- Shifting sprinklers
- Be confident on 2 and 4 wheel motorbikes
- Basic shed and farm maintenance
- Some tractor driving ability, more training will be given.
- NEED TO BE IN NZ AND HAVE A VALID WORK VISA OR RESIDENCY
- Preferably done some basic AGITO or National Certificates
