Ideal position for a Working Holiday Visa We are seeking an energetic and willing to learn person to help rear calves on our farm situated between Ashburton and Methven in Mid Canterbury. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for an experience, to work hard, to learn, and feel proud of the reward of seeing the calves grow and flourish in our environment. Being physically fit is an advantage, at times with being able to lift a large calf. This position includes ensuring every calf receives sufficient colostrum, and being taught to feed on a calf feeder. The ability to drive a 5 speed manual vehicle would be a bonus.  More hours could be available on farm if you were able to drive a 2 wheel motorbike safely. We operate a 6 on 1 off roster for 6 weeks, and then 5 on 2 off when work load eases. Situated 30 minutes to Mt Hutt Ski field, and 1 hour to Christchurch

2 calf rearing positions are available on an 1600 cow dairy farm. Experience is not necessary but would be an asset. To help in rearing 400 replacement calves and 250 bull calves. Its a full time position. Accomodation is available if required. 

Rate dependant on work experience Based a couple of minutes from Winchester  No Accommodation available at this point so is a drive in position Start 8am till about 12pm then afternoons 2pm to around 4pm - hours can alter slightly depending on number of calves that come in, or what the day brings.... 580 cow farm, 150 replacement heifers on auto feeders (basic computer knowledge required) Bobby's and bulls on manual feeders Teaching calves to drink Tube feeding new calves Pumping milk Cleaning feeders  And other general tasks involved with looking after calves. Roster usually runs every second weekend off but we work it out once we have a team (but thats the usual expectation) Need to be fit and reliable (available the whole 8-10 weeks), patient and caring towards animals. 

Looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Calf rearer to take charge of our 200 replacement heifers.   Located just 7minutes from both Washdyke and Temuka.  Experience is preferred, but training can be provided.  

We are looking for a calf rearer to join our team starting mid of July. Rearing about 350 heifer calves plus bobbies and beefies at 4 days old. Roster 6 on 1 off, about 5 hours per day. Job will Involve. we have 480 cows to calved end of July to October 2026 + Rearing approximately 120 heifer calves/45 beef calves and 10 bulls + Feeding bobby calves until 4 days old  + Tube feeding if newborn calves are not drinking from the feeding bottle  + Training calves for the feeders  + Identify any calves not drinking milk and feeding them  + Report any problem of calves and machinery  + Help for milking when staff has day off
