Job Description

We are on the hunt for our superstar calf rearer!

Located 5 minutes from Hinds, 20 minutes from Ashburton and 40 minutes from Timaru, both towns offering medical, recreational and education options.

Applicants must be living in New Zealand now to apply for this job and be either a NZ citizen or have a residency visas/ Working holiday 

Rearing 270-300 replacements, 500 beefies and 400 bobbies.

Modern gear and facilities

Preferred start date is 25 July 2026

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Training calves to drink
  • Monitoring calf health/treating calves
  • Tube feeding calves
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace
  • Keeping feeders cleaned/maintained to a high standard
  • Feeding calves outside on calfateria
  • Helping with collection of new calves (when time allows)
  • Feeding Hay and Meal
  • Feeding and Managing bobby calves
  • Health and Safety reporting.

We are looking for an individual who meets following criteria:

Physically fit and healthy.

  • Ability to work both within a team or solo.
  • Honest.
  • Reliable and punctual.  
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Drug free with no criminal convictions.
  • Clean and tidy.
