We have a job available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 1150-cow farm in the Whataroa area, milking through a 70 Bail Rotary shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing, shed cleaning and setup, identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 60. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate  for each additional hour worked. We are a small sharemilking business looking for a Assistant Manager. Milking 550 cows twice daily through rotary shed. Must have West Coast dairy farming experience of atleast 2years. We farm in a very high rainfall/ cold area. Must be able to communicate well between sharemilker and all staff and delegate tasks appropriately. Be mechanically minded and able to fix minor to more difficult issues in cow shed and on farm.  Pre-employment drug test is required. No pets allowed.
