Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Farm Assistant to join our dairy farming operation. This role supports the day-to-day running of the farm, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, milk production, and farm maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Milking cows and maintaining milking shed hygiene
- Monitoring animal health and reporting concerns promptly
- Assisting with calving, calf rearing, and feeding
- Shifting stock and maintaining pasture management plans
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
- Cleaning and maintaining farm facilities
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Assisting with general farm duties as required by the Farm Manager
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous dairy farming experience preferred but not essential (training can be provided)
- Basic understanding of animal welfare and farm operations
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised when required
- Full driver’s licence preferred
