This is a hands-on role, but we are looking for more than someone who can simply complete the day-to-day farm tasks. We want someone with passion for farming, sound knowledge, initiative and ambition who can become a genuine support to the Farm Manager and confidently take responsibility when required. The role involves understanding and taking responsibility for the daily running of the dairy, effluent management and feeding. Hi we are looking for someone to start asap as we have a staff member leaving due to health reasons,16th october Start date or by negotiation. We are on the lookout for a dairy farm assistant to work along side myself (contract milker) also my 2ic and our full time milker (who have all been on the farm coming up 11 years). Assisting with the day to day tasks of running the farm eg: getting cows in, milking, spraying, fences,mowing etc . This position would suit someone with some experience and can also ride a 2 wheeler motorbike, tractor expierience is not a must. Must be a nz resident or on a valid work visa as im not an accredited employer and have a current drivers license. Great area, hunting and fishing on farm. School bus at gate.

We are seeking a experienced farm manager to join our team. We are located 10 minutes from Gore. The farm milks 900 cows through a rotary shed, we run a 5 on 2 off roster. We are a family owned and operated farm.  We are looking for someone that is: - Reliable - Strong observation skills - Good communication skills - Be a leader for the team.  The role will include making pasture management decisions, management of the cowshed, managing the other staff, delegating jobs etc.  This position comes with a 4 bedroom home, wood fire, heat pump and heat transfer system, double glazing, 2 bathrooms.  Opportunity for a partner to work calf rearing, potentially relief milking and general farm jobs.  If this interests you at all please get in touch to discuss more.
