Hi we are looking for someone to start asap as we have a staff member leaving due to health reasons,16th october Start date or by negotiation. We are on the lookout for a dairy farm assistant to work along side myself (contract milker) also my 2ic and our full time milker (who have all been on the farm coming up 11 years). Assisting with the day to day tasks of running the farm eg: getting cows in, milking, spraying, fences,mowing etc . This position would suit someone with some experience and can also ride a 2 wheeler motorbike, tractor expierience is not a must. Must be a nz resident or on a valid work visa as im not an accredited employer and have a current drivers license. Great area, hunting and fishing on farm. School bus at gate.
390ha dairy farm mostly flat with some rolling paddocks converted to dairy 11 years ago , also part of a bigger operation , runoff next door and two other dairy farms nearby all family owned. High performing farm utilising modern practices and equipment. We peak milk about 1000 cows all wintered on farm baleage and silage on grass paddocks aswell as kale crops. Waikato 64 bale rotary cowshed with cup removers, protrack , auto drafting, in bale teatspraying etc, in shed feeding. Cows also have allflex collars for picking cows for heat and health related issues. We are located 25 mins from winton about half way between wreysbush and mossburn on the main road ,also 10 minutes to nightcaps or 45 minutes to invercargill .The farm backs up to forestry so regularly get deer and pigs coming out on the paddocks, aparima river also runs next to the farm for great fishing.
