We are seeking two experienced farm workers (12+ months’) to work as Herd Managers on an 850-cow farm in the Morrinsville area, milking through a 50 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 35. We have an opportunity for a casual staff member to help us on our two farms over the calving and mating period (July-Dec). We have two dairy farms both running 300 cows located 10mins North of Morrinsville. The role will mainly involve milking and some small duties either side of milking like collecting cows or cleaning up. The hours will be roughly 20-30hrs per week and are to help during the days staff are rostered off, you will most likely be working directly with the farm owner. We are looking for someone to take the lead as a calf rearer, with assistance from our other farm staff. We will be rearing approximately 150 replacement heifer calves plus a few beef calves across two neighbouring farms. Position to start 13th July, for about 10 weeks.  Ideally a 6 : 1 position with Sundays off. There is also a possibility of taking on some relief milkings through the rest of the season if desired. I am looking for a drive in calf rearer to rear approx 130-140 calves in Eureka, near Morrinsille and Hamilton. Must be experienced and have an eye for detail. There will be bobby calves to feed as well. Have a milk trailer setup with a pump and hose. There will be relief milking available later in the season if wanted also. We are looking for someone to drive in to milk the morning shift at our farm near Walton.  Will be milking in a herringbone cowshed, this will be getting in cows , milking , and clean up.  Will be around 3 to 4 hours per shift.  During calving there could be extra hours available if wanted to help with calves etc.   Can be somewhat flexible on roster for the right person.
