We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dairy Herd Manager to support the day-to-day management and operation of our dairy farm in Morrinsville.
This is a senior on-farm role involving responsibility for herd management, pasture planning, staff supervision, animal health, and compliance. The successful applicant will work closely with the farm owner to ensure efficient, productive, and compliant farm operations.
Day-to-day herd and farm management
Pasture and feed planning and allocation
Monitoring animal health, welfare, and production
Staff supervision, training, and task coordination
Record keeping and reporting
Milking and dairy shed operations as required
Pay: $29.66 per hour based on 48 hours per week
Hours: 48 hours per week
Accommodation: On-farm accommodation available
Overtime: Paid where applicable
Leave: As per New Zealand employment legislation
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
At least 2 - 3 years of relevant dairy farming experience, including herd and pasture management
Good knowledge of animal health, welfare, and pasture management
Ability to supervise staff and work independently
Good communication and organisational skills
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to pass a drug test and provide satisfactory references
Must have no criminal convictions
Flat contour 145 ha dairy farm consists of 400 cows milked through a 40 aside herringbone shed with cup removers.
