We are seeking a Farm Assistant to join our small team on a dairy farm,12km from Okato. Looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and can work in a team as well as independently. The farm is 149 hectares rolling to flat, high altitude. The Dairy Shed is a Herringbone, 30 aside with some ACRs. Halter necklaces for pasture and animal health. System 2 mainly grass feed. The role consists of all aspects of dairy farming including, milking cows, animal health and welfare, feeding out, effluent management, general maintenance, spraying weeds and tractor work. Experience on a tractor and motorbike is an advantage, and a minimum of 1 years' experience is required. The farm is smoke and drug free. We milk 420-430 Friesian cows through a new 50 bale rotary shed, located 5 minutes east of Eltham. We require someone who is passionate about farming and who is keen to learn more about the industry.  This position is a fixed term position, finishing 30 May 2027, to cover an absent employee. You will be required to undertake and be involved in general farming duties including milking, dairy hygiene, weed control, animal health, feeding out and general maintenance. You must be honest and reliable, and have excellent time management skills. Our team is made up of 3 full time workers (employer included). Time off will be every second weekend.
