We are seeking an experienced team member (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 1000-cow operation in the Waimakariri  area.  The farm is located approximately 40 minutes from Christchurch and milks   through a 60 bale rotary shed. Top 400 cows twice a day, the rest once a day morning only, everything once a day March to end of May. We have a system that allows for not getting cows in, they walk themselves to milking while the coffees being drunk. Calves are grazed off farm from January till they return in May the following year as in calf. All ground work is done in house so plenty of tractor work available. We are on the lookout for a senior Farm Assistant to join our small team in Sheffield. Start date: ASAP Location: 5min to Sheffield, and 10min to Darfield. Milking 650 xbred cows through a new 54 bale rotary with ACRs, auto teat spray, atip drafting and inshed feeding. The farm is a flat 156ha property that is irrigated mainly by pivots.
