A position has become available on our 680 cow, 54 bail rotary shed, based in the beautiful Hurunui District town of Rotherham. the local school ( yr 0-6) is just 2km up the road. Culverden is 10min car drive away with a local area school, grocery store and other small town shops. Hanmer Springs is just a 30 minute drive North with the beautiful hot pools, endless hiking and mountain biking at your door.
Our job is for someone who has an eye for detail, enjoys working by them selves or within a team, and takes pride in the farm and cow shed.
we are currently heading into our 7th season contract milking on the family farm. We milk TAD most of the season running 3 staff on a 8 on 2 off 8 on 3 off roster along side the 2 of us helping out and being on farm. We winter our cows on a run off block which is 5min drive up the road. we also help out during the season when needed with young stock.
your daily jobs are including but not limited to:
*milking cows
*feeding cows/ break fences
*tractor driving
*general farm maintenance
*moving k-line and corner sprinklers.
being able to ride a 2 wheeler is a must, however can be taught to the successful applicant
1yr minimum experience. We are NOT a verified farm
