Farm details -   800 cows, 50 bale herringbone, 4 full time staff, 3 calf rearers in spring and I work usually everyday from July 10th - September 20th, so you are well supported. In shed feeding, System 3-4, 535ms per cow, scc under 100 the whole season, Allflex collars, 2 pivots with K-line and fixed grid. We are seeking a experienced Assistant farm Manager/ Farm Manager to join our team. We are located at Morven,10 minutes from Waimate. The farm milks 1400 cows through a rotary shed, split calving spring 1000 cow and Autumn 400 cows.   Farm have winter barns and cows stays barn at winter. we run a 6 on 3 off roster except August we running 6 on 1 off roster. We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 700-cow farm milking through a 54 Rotary Bale shed in the Ashburton area. The farm is located 10-15 minutes to Ashburton, 30 minutes from Mt Hutt Ski Field.  Previous experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties.
