Dairy Farm Assistant.  Start date 1 October.  Permanent or Fixed Term (however must commit through for at least 3 months) 600 Friesian herd/ 46 aside Herringbone Shed. 100% irrigated. We are looking for a farm assistant to join us at One Arrow.  We require someone with 1-3 years farming experience. You should be able to do the following under direction: Milking a herd of cows in a timely fashion Identify lame and mastitis cows Complete plant wash and vat wash Operate Effluent Spreader Shift K line Irrigation Correctly set up correct break sizes Assist with lame cow treatment We are keen to turn good people into good farmers. We are seeking someone to fill a Herd Manager position on our 1200-cow farm 20 minutes inland from Ashburton. We currently milk 1200 cows through a modern 80 bale rotary off 345 ha, the farm has excellent irrigation, infrastructure, and machinery.
