ABOUT US:
We are owner/operators on a coastal farm located 20mins from both Ashburton and Rakaia. We operate a 185 Ha platform, milking 600 cows with a grass-based system with wintering on platform. We have a 40 ASHB shed with ACR's, walkover teat spray, Protrack drafting gate & CowManager. We are always investigating further opportunities to integrate technology to increase efficiencies and futureproof on farm procedure. The farm is fully irrigated by pivots and rotorainers. The three-year average milk production is 440kgMS/cow with approximately 500kg/cow of supplement. Our young stock are grazed off farm.
We are passionate about our cows and our people. We run as a team of 4 full time staff plus a calf-rearer and relief milkers through the season. We strive for the highest standard of animal welfare and husbandry; whilst maintaining emphasis on a healthy work/life balance for our team and their families. It is important to us that our people are growing and succeeding, and we aim to fuel passion for the industry.
IS THIS YOU?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about dairy farming with a willingness to step up and take on some on-farm responsibility and work in well with our existing team. On the job training and off farm courses are encouraged so all experience levels can be catered to but previous experience is required for this role. The role covers all aspects of the daily operations from milking to feeding and animal health with support from the rest of the team. We are hoping to teach new skills to provide diversity within the role for a range of different operations on farm.
