Fixed Term Permanent - Full Time Farm Assistant

Job Description

Dairy Farm Assistant.  Start date 1 October.  Permanent or Fixed Term (however must commit through for at least 3 months)

600 Friesian herd/ 46 aside Herringbone Shed. 100% irrigated. You will be one of four staff.     

Job will include following duties: 

  1.  calving until mid Oct
  2.  milking 2x a day 
  3.  stock yard work
  4.  animal health
  5. setting breaks
  6. general farm duties

Prefer applicant to have experience but can be taught if willing to learn.  

  • be able to fit in with existing team
  • able to ride a motorbike
  • have your own car 
  • be physically fit 
  • ideally be able to drive a tractor/ bale feeder

Please only apply if already residing in NZ or eligible to work in NZ with a working holiday visa. 

Do not apply if you want an employer to be Accredited (AEWV) as we do not hold that status.  

We are within 15min drive to Ashburton or Methven. 

Accommodation is a 3 bedroom house which you will be sharing with one other staff member
