We are currently looking for a Herd Manager to join our Oxford team. You would be working on a 220ha cow dairy farm and milking 680 cows through a 50 bale rotary shed with acr's and protrack. The farm has 5 pivots. Roster would be 6:2. House is a 4 bedroom brick home. Must have precious experience in this role and must also be a NZ resident. Start date is asap - successful applicant would ideally fill this position from 1st October. Regular drug tests are performed on this farm.

Ideally we want someone who has a great attitude and the confidence and experience to make on farm decisions on a daily basis. You will have support from the owners and their team, and the farm has recently installed Halter. Excellent animal health and feeding skills are essential, as well as the ability to operate tractors and machinery. We value health and safety and great communication. With our amazing 2IC heading back overseas in October we are now seeking a motivated and reliable person or couple to help us milk 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed. This is a fixed term role for the remainder of the season but we are open to also transitioning to a permanent role for the coming season and beyond. Main duties would include getting cows in, milking, shed and effluent management, water management and general farm tidying and maintenance. There is not much tractor work so if this is not a strength that's no issue. We value reliability and people who have a calm demeanor around livestock and co-workers.  We are open to a range of scenarios and ideally would like a full time worker and part time milker.
