We peak milk 1100 cows through a 60 bale rotary cow shed. Shed is equipped with protrac, auto drafting, auto test spraying & Cell Sense. We also have Halter collars on the cows. We are looking for Herd manager to assist with running our 630 cow farm in Culverden. You main duties will be milking, cleaning cowshed, fencing, feeding calves, weed control, riding motorbike and other farm duties. One year of NZ dairy experience is a minimum and lvl4+ ITO qualification or similar Agriculture training is compulsory. Our candidate must be physically fit as manual work and heavy lifting may be required and be ready to wake up at 4am and work after 5pm if circumstance requires (with regular breaks). You also need to be ready to work weekends and holidays as required per your roster. Accommodation on farm provided so you need to have your own reliable transport due to the remote location of workplace. Weekly hours will be between 40-60 depending on part of the year.
