Due to genuine reasons, our client is looking for a manager or experienced 2IC to help run their 300 cow dairy farm near Tuatapere. Ideally we want someone who has a great attitude and the confidence and experience to make on farm decisions on a daily basis. You will have support from the owners and their team, and the farm has recently installed Halter. Excellent animal health and feeding skills are essential, as well as the ability to operate tractors and machinery. We value health and safety and great communication. The farm has a herringbone shed with inshed feeding and a feed pad. Please apply online with a CV and references. We are flexible with regards to employing either a manager or 2IC. Milking - Manage efficient and hygienic milking routine.  Follow procedure to produce high quality milk.   Animals - Manage safe handling of animals, report any health and welfare issues as per farm policy.  Manage the moving and handling animals safely and observe and report on wellbeing of all classes of stock.       Feed -Mange the on farm feed plan.  Manage pasture and crop weed control and feed allocations and health issues associated with crops.    Environment - Manage dairy effluent systems operate and how effluent affects the on-farm environment and be aware of regional council requirements and their responsibilities to comply with these.    People - Manage and work well with others, building a strong team culture.  Develop an understanding of what makes a good farm team, and how their actions affect the wider team.    Machine, vehicles, and technology - Manage the safe use and maintenance of vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy....

We have a 2IC/Herd managers role available.  50 Bale rotary cowshed with ACRs with feedpad.  The successful candidate will have good pasture management and animal health skills and can run the farm for short periods of time in the absence of the farm manager.  You will be working with a competent farm manager and have good support from the farm owner.  You may be an existing dairy assistant or herd manager who is wanting to take the next step.  Please apply online only if you live in New Zealand.

The successful candidate will be competent in all aspects of farm management including feed, animal health, and staff organaisation skills. We are owner operators seeking experienced and motivated individual who enjoys farming with a strong work ethic and who is capable to assist with the day to day running of the farm. Our farm is a tidy, well established 146ha flat to undulating farm which is located in Isla Bank, Western Southland. We winter 470 crossbred cows on a family runoff in Dipton and peak milk 460 cows through a 50 bale rotary cowshed. We have ACRs, Protrack, Auto draft, Auto teatsprayer, and Halter Collars. We are owner operators, who want to see the best of the farm, cows and staff. 6/2 roster all year round except for calving (1st Aug – 31st Oct) where rosters are 6/1) 2 full-time staff throughout the season.
