FARM ASSISTANT & HERD MANAGER
Falcon Trust Partnership | Balfour, Southland

Due to a staff injury, we are seeking a reliable Farm Assistant and Herd Manager to join our team. Immediate start available.

What we are looking for:

  • Good stock sense, quiet cow handling and a commitment to animal welfare.
  • Ability to identify mastitis, lameness and other animal health concerns, report issues promptly and follow treatment instructions.
  • Safe, confident operation of two-wheel farm motorbikes and quad bikes.
  • Reliable milking routines, good shed hygiene and accurate record keeping.
  • A positive attitude, good communication and pride in keeping the farm tidy.

Farm Assistant: Support daily milking, stock movements, feeding, fencing and general farm duties.

Herd Manager: Relevant dairy experience, with the ability to oversee milking, monitor cow health, maintain treatment records and assist with pasture management, feed allocation and staff guidance.
